The Green Eagle concept started 3 years ago when we first researched a company out of the UK that was developing a 4 stroke Back Pack Powered Paraglider (PPG or Paramotor).

We wanted an engine that used a gallon an hour or less, produced more than 220lbs of thrust with a 60" or smaller prop. We needed a quiet engine with low vibrations, low RPMs, lots of power, long running time - all the things a two-stroke motor was having trouble delivering.

We chose a generator engine as they are built to run at full speed for thousands of hours. Our base engine before modifications was designed to run 3000 hours at 3700 RPMs. That is before we made radical changes to the engine and used propane as a fuel source.

The Green Eagle Concept

We at Green Eagle now give you an engine that produces more thrust than a Rotax 447, the same thrust as a Rotax 503 or 582 with the same propeller and re-drive at half the RPMs. We deliver up to a 75% increase in fuel efficiency versus 2-stroke engines. It is 67% more efficient on propane which will net you an average 4 hours flight on Propane and 4.5 hours on our Gas Version. By using propane and a 4-stroke engine at low RPMs there is an estimated 3000+ hours between rebuilds or TBOs. This is 10 times less maintenance than any Rotax.

With oil prices rising, it is common to spend $40.00 dollars in gas to reach your airlfield, then another $40.00 on high-octane gas filled with ethanol which is very bad for 2-stroke engines. With your new Green Eagle you get low maintenance and low operation cost which is win-win. If you choose our dual fuel Green Eagle DFX61 Engine - you will have the ability to run gas or propane. Our system is a Liquid Vapor system - that means you can run a stock Home Depot BBQ tank!

Many lightweight engines from good manufacturers had multiple problems when used in the powered paragliding or parachute arena. None of them were designed for quick acceleration which is dangerous when good climb out is important.

Many PPG companies that have electric start as a standard sell their back pack units for 6,700 USD with no trike and no wing. Many trikes that have the same thrust sell for $15,000 USD and up. Our unit starts at $8,700 USD and you get so much more in lower cost to fly, lower repair cost, cleaner, quieter and all around better for our environment.

Don’t forget that with a 2-stroke you have to mix oil with Gas bringing a gallon a fly ready gas to about $6.00. If you don’t use that gas soon it goes bad, not to mention if you leave it in your carburetor you have other maintenance problems as well.

At only 4.250 pounds per gallon, propane is 2 + pounds lighter than gas, can be stored for over a year and it will not gum up your carburetor. It has 110 Octane and 85% less contaminates. It will not spill on you, to all the Ladies it doesn’t stink up your garage, it is altitude friendly and does not require modifications for high altitude. It is environmentally friendly, it will make your Engine run 50% longer on its lifetime, And when you finish flying you can BBQ.

During development we modified engines built multiple re-drives, added special Constant Velocity carbs, Cylinder head modifications, Valves, New Pistons, Cam Shaft Mods, Fly Wheel mods, and all the stuff that goes into making a slow engine with lots of torque give you fast RPMS without the need of High Octane oil mixed gas.

We use larger engines with more torque focusing on power delivery with special built re-drives from various manufacturers. With the help of many leaders in the PPG, PPC, Propellers, Engineering, and Manufacturing world we were able to bring you the most innovative, advanced, low cost, powered paragliding trike / quad to date.

We teamed up with Buckeye Manufacturing with 18 plus years of experience and innovation to use of their facility for mass production.

Kenneth AKA "Butch' at Buckeye Manufacturing put his twenty years of experience and a million dollar facility together to produce a state of the art frame and engine mounting system. He designed a re-drive floating mount system for military observation planes. This kept a beefy re-drive delivering more than 35HP and 65 pounds of torque from adversely affecting the craft with vibrations or torque turn. His design successfully enabled the aircraft to use hi-def video surveillance equipment. His experience, expertise in design and manufacturing are leagues above the rest and I would have been a year out of production with out him.

Our engineer / machinist Craig built the best quality and most robust interchangeable re-drive system for testing that I have ever seen. Craig was instrumental in aiding in valuable carburetion and thrust test sometimes through the wee hours of the night. His dedication to getting the job done kept us on schedule for both PPC and PPG projects. His attention to detail is a nice touch to the Green Eagle and with out his help we would have been months behind schedule “Thank You Craig”.

You are getting a craft made by a large group of the best people in the industry and the most up to date technology in the PPG/PPC world today. I want to thank all the unmentioned companies and people who helped make this revolutionary machine become a reality.

Don’t take our word for it - fly one for yourself. Green Eagle PPG Models
